Seven Leadership Lessons from the Historical Legends of Political Leadership

What are the Key Leadership Qualities and Strategies that Distinguish the Legends of Leadership from Most Politicians in Washington Today?

During the dark years of Apartheid, Robert Kennedy gave a speech in South Africa at the University of Cape Town in which he called on the courage and duty of his listeners. “Few will have the greatness to bend history itself,” but we can all, he said, “move the world.” For those with the faith and wisdom to find Archimedes fulcrum, and the strength and courage to pick up his lever; the great leaders of history have left a number of blueprints and signposts for future generations to follow.

Emerging from a careful study of a number of the great leaders of history; the following are seven strategies or factors which made it possible for these leaders to become representative figures of their times and, thus, better positioned to lead society into the future.
